Director of Admissions

Angi has been with PRIDE Institute since 2010 and is eager to help struggling individuals access care. She has over 7 years of personal, long-term sobriety, while having extensive experience working within the recovery community. In addition to working for PRIDE, she is earning her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services at Metro State University. As a member of both the LGBT and Recovery communities she brings a unique perspective, knowledge-base and experience to our potential clients. Angi is known for her ability to help our incoming clients feel comfortable and understanding, when it comes to all aspects of their treatment stay. She is a true advocate for clients at PRIDE Institute.

Mel Owen

Admissions Counselor

Mel brings to PRIDE over 10 years of experience working with acute MH and substance abuse intake, and this shows in her calm and compassionate demeanor at all times. In the first part of her career, Mel helped pioneer one of Duluth’s first DBT partial hospitalization programs for children and adolescents and recently relocated to the Twin Cities to join the PRIDE family in August of 2013.

Mel is proud to be a part of the wonderful work that PRIDE Institute does, and she is a big part of helping us to be as dedicated and compassionate about the work that we do with the LGBT community.
