Objectives
1. This workshop will review the concept of sexual health. By the end of the session, the participant will be able to
a. Recognize the components of sexual health
b. Understand the Professional’s role in fostering sexual health.
c. Have a conceptual understanding of sexual health as it relates to recovery.
2. This workshop will describe the overlap of sexuality issues and substance use disorders.
a. Recognize and conceptualize the overlap between sexual compulsivity and substance use.
b. Recognize and conceptualize Internet sexual compulsivity, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment concerns.
3. This workshop will help increase the comfort and skill level talking about sexuality topics. By the end of the session, the participant will be able to:
a. Recognize subject areas where they feel comfortable talking about sex.
b. Recognize subject areas where they feel uncomfortable talking about sex.
c. Identify strategies to refer employees to appropriate levels of intervention
4. The participant will have a basic skill to complete a sex history and his/her skill level talking about sexuality topics. By the end of the session, the participant will be able to:
a. Identify basic strategies involved in taking a sex history.
b. Address personal strengths and areas of growth in taking a sex history.
c. Recognize subject areas where they feel comfortable talking about sex.
d. Recognize subject areas where they feel uncomfortable talking about sex.
e. Identify strategies to refer clients to other staff members when faced with a topic area that is uncomfortable
