Monday, Monday: Recognizing Signs of Chemical Dependency in the Workplace

Recognizing drug and alcohol abuse or dependency issues in the workplace is not easy given the very nature of the disease. People who are caught in the cycle of abuse and dependency become adept at hiding and disguising their use of substances. Many times, the work setting may be the very last social arena that a chemically affected individual may continue to function in, while all other aspects of his or her life – familial, communal, financial, physical and spiritual health have been detrimentally affected.

How and When to Refer

The admission referral process at PRIDE Institute or PRISM can be very smooth for both you and the client. You are welcome to call on behalf of the client to gather information on our programs and determine if we are a good fit for your client. However, eventually the admission staff at PRIDE Institute will need to speak to your client, take an initial assessment and gather insurance payment information. Feel free to review the Frequently Asked Questions section under the Admissions tab to help you and your client understand the process a bit more.

A Team To Support You

The entire staff at PRIDE Institute and PRISM are here to support you as well as your client. Our Business Development staff would be a great contact for you prior to your referral to answer questions and supply you with materials to share with your clients or family members. The Business Development staff also has created a nationwide system of referrals and resources so do not be afraid to contact them to help you with your LGBT clients. Our primary goal is to help LGBT receive safe and supportive care wherever possible.

Our Payment Options

PRIDE Institute accepts most major forms of insurance, self pay, and Minnesota state funding. We have worked with outside loan agencies, as well as provide financial counseling to help to eliminate this barrier to treatment. When considering paying for treatment, PRIDE Institute will help you understand your insurance co-pay and deductible if applicable. In addition, the staff can talk with you about Health Savings Accounts, borrowing against a retirement plan, or even a home equity loan to help cover costs for treatment.

Unfortunately because of our licensure, we do not accept Medicare or out of state Medicaid programs. The Fort Lauderdale facility can accept Medicare.
