LGBTQ+ Addiction Recovery Programs

Start Your Recovery Journey

The decision to seek treatment is a big step,
but you don’t have to do it alone.

The LGBTQ+ community faces many unique challenges when it comes to addiction, mental health, and treating either of the two. It is important to make sure your treatment aligns with your wants and needs as an individual. If not, you may not get the most out of the experience.

Pride Institute offers acceptance, understanding, and inclusivity to all who come through our doors. No matter the severity of the addiction or condition, our addiction recovery programs are designed to guide you on the path to recovery. Please reach out to us today for more information about your treatment options. You can call us at 952.934.7554 or fill out our online form and let us get back to you.

Unique Treatment Options to Fit Your Needs

Pride Institute is an inclusive and accepting program that has been helping members of the LGBTQ+ community since 1986. Each program at Pride is designed to meet the needs of each client, offering individual treatment plans as unique as they are. We don’t deal with addiction and mental health issues in a vacuum. We tackle these disorders within the context of the whole person. As a result, recovery doesn’t just mean living substance-free; it means living a more integrated and expressive life.

Challenges within the LGBTQ+ community are often unique and nuanced. In traditional treatment centers, these challenges may be unknown, overlooked, or unaccepted. As a result, these insensitivities can make individuals feel antagonized or misunderstood. At Pride Institute, we understand the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community, so we can get right to work helping you overcome the issues that brought you to treatment.

The components of our treatment programs are designed to promote successful recovery for our LGBTQ+ clients. These include cultural sensitivity and awareness of the impact of cultural victimization, and they address issues of internalized shame and negative self-acceptance. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) challenges internalized negative beliefs and promotes emotional regulation, leading to improved self-worth, a healthier outlook, and a greater chance of achieving sobriety.

Residential Treatment Program for Adults

Our residential treatment program provides guidance in developing coping skills, life balance, and other tools needed for long-term recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) with Lodging

Clients in our partial hospitalization program receive the same level of care that they would in our residential program but instead they live in an unsupervised living environment while participating in treatment during the day.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Adults

Our intensive outpatient program is an option for adult clients with stable living environments or who do not require extensive residential programming.

LGBTQ+ Family Therapy Program

The family therapy program involves biweekly sessions in which clients and their defined families connect through education and therapy.

The Benefits of Professional LGBTQ+-Focused Addiction Treatment

It is essential that individuals struggling with addiction receive professional care and support from an addiction treatment facility. It is also very important that a member of the LGBTQ+ community seeking help for addiction find a facility that is familiar with treating the nuanced and unique issues that affect the community.

Some of the most significant benefits of seeking professional addiction treatment that focuses specifically on LGBTQ+ issues include the following:

  • 24/7 care and support that is understanding, validating, and affirming
  • Withdrawal symptoms are monitored and managed to get you through the detox process as comfortably as possible
  • Individual therapy that addresses the root causes of addiction, such as trauma or co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Group therapy that puts you in touch with peers in the LGBTQ+ community who understand what you’re going through because they’ve faced similar challenges
  • Access to educational resources and aftercare programs like peer support groups to keep you on track once you’ve left treatment
