We are well into the New Year and for some of us that means we have begun to struggle with our New Year’s resolutions. If we set the word “resolution”
aside and look at setting ourselves up with New Year’s “intentions” instead, we may end up with better results.
Intentions are where we would like to set our focus for the year; how we can guide ourselves through the year and the specific goals we choose to set for ourselves.
When we look at our intentions, we are able to adjust and re-evaluate them for changes that come as the year unfolds. As we set these intentions for the year, remember to keep them SMART goals; specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely outlines for them.
When we surround ourselves with people who hold us accountable and help us adjust our intentions throughout the year, we grow – becoming healthier and stronger individuals in Recovery. Let’s make this our year and strive to be the best we can be to others and ourselves.
